Golf Closes Out First Day of Low Country Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, South Carolina - The Quinnipiac women's golf team opened competition at the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford on Monday at the Golf Club at Indigo Run.

Marisa Flores finished the first day with the best score out of the Quinnipiac group, shooting a 151 (+7). Flores currently sits in a tie for eighth place with five other golfers.

Sophia Fujita finished two strokes behind Flores with a two-round total of 153 (+9). Fujita wrapped up day one in a two-way tie for 15^th place.

Samantha Galantini was the next highest finisher for the Bobcats, finishing the day with a total score of 161 (+17).

Amy Goddard (171, +27) and Sandhya Vaikuntam (172, +28) finished a stroke apart to round out the Quinnipiac scores from day one of the Low Country Intercollegiate.

The Bobcats will close out play at the tournament tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10^th, with the final 18 holes and tee-times slated for 9 AM.

SCORES AND NOTES

Marisa Flores closed out day one with her best round of the day, shooting a 75 (+3) on the final 18 holes.
Sophia Fujita started the day with her best round of the tournament thus far, shooting a 76 (+4). Fujita is tied for fifth in the field with 24 total pars.
Samantha Galantini's low round thus far in the tournament came in the second trip around the course.
As a team, the Bobcats put up their best score of the Low Country Collegiate so far in the final 18 holes (+24).
