HAMDEN, CT - The Quinnipiac Bobcats wrap up their two-game homestand on Saturday, October 10, with the Iona Gaels coming to town. Before the contest, the Bobcats will honor their graduating class with a Senior Day Ceremony. Kickoff from the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium is slated for noon and can be seen on GoBobcats.com.

SCOUTING THE GAELS
- The Iona Gaels will enter Saturday's matchup with a 5-5-2 overall record and a 2-4-1 mark in conference play.
- The Gaels entered conference play with a 3-1-1 record and will wrap up non-conference action against Miami on Sunday, October 18. The Gaels have beaten LIU, Le Moyne, and Delaware State, lost to Villanova, and drew with Lafayette so far in non-conference play. The Gaels have been outscored by their non-conference opponents, 12-9, allowing eleven of the twelve to Villanova.
- Iona is currently 2-4-1 in conference play and sits in eighth place in the Metro Conference standings.
- The Gaels opened conference play with a scoreless draw against Mount St. Mary's and followed up with a 3-1 loss to the Niagara Purple Eagles. Iona picked up their first conference win of the season, defeating Merrimack, 2-1, on their senior day. After the win, Iona dropped their next three contests, falling to Fairfield (6-1), Canisius (1-0), and Rider (2-0). Last time out, the Gaels earned their second conference victory, defeating the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 4-1.
- Nine Gaels have found the back of the net so far this season, with Dolene Smith leading the way with six tallies. Marissa Graziano is second on the team with three goals. Natalia Arango is the third and final Gael to have scored multiple goals so far this season, having found the back of the net twice. Six other Gaels have scored a single goal this season.
- Iona has had four goalkeepers see action this season, with Kayla Kalbaugh leading the way with 10 starts and 12 appearances. Kalbaugh holds a 3-4-2 record and has recorded 45 saves, while allowing 21 goals against.
- Last year, the Gaels finished with a 6-10-3 overall record and a 4-6-2 mark in conference action. Iona failed to make the conference tournament for the first time since the 2023 season.
- Iona was picked to finish eighth in the Metro Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll with a total of 80 points. Â
HISTORY AGAINST IONA
- Saturday's matchup between the Bobcats and Gaels will mark the 16th time the two teams will face off.
- Quinnipiac leads the all-time series, 9-5-1, and are 5-1-1 in Hamden. Â
- The Bobcats have won the last four meetings between the two teams and outscored the Gaels 7-1 in that span.
- In their last meeting, the Bobcats went on the road to defeat Iona, 2-0. Corey Anderson and Morgan Cupo netted the two first-half goals in the win over the Gaels.
LAST TIME OUT
- For the second straight game, the Quinnipiac women's soccer team recorded a clean sheet, defeating the Sacred Heart Pioneers, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Hamden. The Bobcats have defeated the Pioneers in the last three meetings, dating back to the 2024 season.Â
- Isabella Torelli scored her second goal of the season with her tally in the 23rd minute. Torelli is now tied with Anna Bean for second on the team with two goals.
- Olivia Jarvis recorded three saves in the win. Jarvis backstopped the Bobcats to their third clean sheet of the season and second straight.
- With the win, the Bobcats improved to 5-7-4 all-time against the Pioneers and 4-4-1 at home.
THE A IN "ADDYSON" STANDS FOR ASSISTS
- Addyson Earl's name was all over the scoresheet in the 4-1 victory over the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
- Earl recorded an assist on all four of the Bobcats' goals, earning the primary assist on each goal.
- Her four assists tied the Quinnipiac single-game record for assists, which was set by Courtney Chochol against Siena on Sept. 28, 2022.
- Earl is currently fourth in the conference with four total assists.
THIS GIRL'S ON FIRE
- Morgan Cupo is on the hottest of hot streaks, having scored eight goals in the last six games.
- Cupo is up to nine goals on the season, which leads the team and the conference.
- Cupo also ranks first in the conference with a total of 20 points this year (nine goals, two assists).
- The graduate forward ranks 21st in the country in points per game (1.82), 17th in the NCAA in total goals and 32nd in total points.
PRESEASON HONORS
- The Quinnipiac women's soccer team was selected third in the Metro Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday, August 6th.
- The Bobcats received 146 points, including one first-place vote. Fairfield was picked to finish first with 164 total points and nine first-place votes, and Sacred Heart was picked second with 151 points and three first-place votes.
- Morgan Cupo and Corey Anderson were voted to the Preseason All-Metro Team.
'25 SEASON RECAP
- The Bobcats finished last season with an 8-3-6 overall record and an 8-0-4 conference mark.
- As the two seed, the Bobcats matched up with the Canisius Golden Griffins in Hamden, and Canisius advanced with a victory in penalty kicks.
HOME COOKING
- Quinnipiac posted a 5-0-2 record at the Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium last season.
- The Bobcats continue to defend their home turf, posting a 25-3-3 record over the last four seasons.

HEAD COACH DAVE CLARKE
- Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his 28th season with the Bobcats in 2026. Clarke is 260-209-54 (.548) over his career as a collegiate head coach (2 seasons at New Haven before QU).
- Clarke has firmly cemented himself as one of the premier college coaches in the NCAA's highest division. He effectively etched his signature on Quinnipiac soccer by becoming not only the winningest coach in its history but also leading his team to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and a regular-season championship in 2001.
- The Bobcats then won their second consecutive MAAC Championship in 2023, marking their second MAAC Title in program history.
WHO'S BACK?
- The Bobcats return three of their top five-point scorers from last season, highlighted by Morgan Cupo and Corey Anderson.
- Quinnipiac returns 14 players who played in at least ten contests last season, with seven of them starting more than ten games.
NEW FACES IN HAMDEN
- The Bobcats welcome five newcomers to Hamden before the start of the 2026 season.
- Quinnipiac brought in Tindra Biedermann (Arizona Western College), Chiara Peiter (Johannes Gutenberg Universitat), and Skye Cuscuna (UMass) as transfers.
- Coach Clarke brought in two first-years for the upcoming season: Beatrice Plouffe (Repentigny, Quebec, Canada) and Tatum O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.)
THE '26 SCHEDULE
- The Bobcats will play 16 regular-season games, hosting seven contests at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
- Quinnipiac's slate features four non-conference matchups, with three on the road (Holy Cross, North Carolina, UAlbany) and one in Hamden (Yale).
- QU kicks off Metro play on September 5th as they host the Niagara Purple Eagles at 12 PM.
- Quinnipiac will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, November 4th, on the road at Saint Peter's.Â
