No. 8 Bobcats Use Another Offensive Burst to Run Away from Union
1/9/2026 11:52:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program again ran away from its competition at M&T Bank Arena on Friday night, using a seven-goal run to dispose of Union by a 7-2 final to extend its winning streak to three games and make it 10 wins in 11 tries.
After Union scored the opener 4:26 into the first, the Bobcats responded 18 seconds later thanks to Braden Blace's second goal in as many games and the hosts were off to the races.
They would add three more in the first, courtesy of a power play tally from Antonin Verreault and even-strength goals from Andon Cerbone and Ethan Wyttenbach.
Two more in the back half of the second were added by Tyler Borgula and Matthew Lansing, before the Bobcats' scoring was capped early in the third after a point shot from Will Gilson deflected home.
Dylan Silverstein made 25 saves on 27 shots on his cage, earning the victory in net. Three Bobcats finished the night with multiple points, with Wyttenbach leading the way with three and Aaron Schwartz and Markus Vidicek chipping in a pair each.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac turns to its 50th Anniversary celebration on Saturday at M&T Bank Arena, welcoming RPI to town for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
