Vidicek Buries OT Winner to Extend No. 8 Bobcats' Win Streak to Four

HAMDEN, Conn. — Markus Vidicek scored with 17 seconds left in overtime and the No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program escaped with a 4-3 home victory over RPI on Saturday night as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The first-year forward grabbed his own rebound and roofed it to give the Bobcats their fourth consecutive win on home ice to begin the 2026 calendar year.
After RPI took a 1-0 lead into the second, Andon Cerbone and Matthew Lansing scored 26 seconds apart to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead.
RPI tied the game 60 seconds in to the third and Chris Pelosi gave the Bobcats the lead with 1:50 to go, before RPI tied it with 15 seconds to go.

Quinnipiac hits the road for the first time in 2026, taking on Colgate and Cornell next weekend. The Bobcats will take on the Raiders in Hamilton on Friday night before a tilt with the Big Red on Saturday.

- Elliott Groenewold continues to lead the country in plus-minus, currently sitting at a plus-23 rating.
- Vidicek's goal is his 14th of the year, a team-best. That puts him tied for second nationally amongst his class.
- Ethan Wyttenbach extended his lead amongst the freshman points leaderboard, currently sitting with 31 on the year.
- With the win in overtime, Quinnipiac climbed to the top of the ECAC standings, currently standing tied with Princeton for the first spot with 22 points.
