O'Donnell Records Double Double as QU Defeats Mount

Emmitsburg, M.D. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats continued their winning ways, defeating the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, 70-44, on Thursday morning in Emmitsburg. With the win, the Bobcats have extended their win streak to six games to kick off MAAC play.
Ella O'Donnell had a big day for the Bobcats, recording her first double-double of the season. O'Donnell led the way with 18 points on 63.6% (7-for-11) shooting from the floor and grabbed a team high 12 rebounds. Jackie Grisdale reached double figures once again, scoring 14 points and knocking down four threes in the effort. Sydney Ryan finished a rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds. Seven Bobcats recorded points in the 26-point victory over the Mountaineers to improve to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in MAAC play.

Mount St. Mary's got on the board first, 2:41 into the contest, and opened a four-point lead seconds later. Ella Ryan got Quinnipiac on the board with a three as the Mount led just 4-3 at the media timeout. Quinnipiac and the Mount traded points to end the quarter as Jackie Grisdale knocked down a three to knot it up at 11.
Another slow start to the second quarter saw the Mountaineers take a two-point lead, 17-15, into the media timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats came out and took over, ending the second quarter on a 12-4 run to take a 27-21 lead into the halftime break.
The Bobcats picked up where they left off, starting the third quarter on a 9-0 scoring run to force the Mountaineers to call a timeout. Quinnipiac's lead inflated from there, going up twenty-five before Mount ended the quarter with a layup.
Quinnipiac's lead got as high as 28 in the final frame, and the Bobcats would go on to defeat the Mountaineers by 26, giving them just their second loss on their home floor this season.
