Women's Basketball Downs Sacred Heart, Improve to 7-0 in MAAC Play

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats defended their home court on Saturday, January 10th, as they defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers, 65-49. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 12-4 overall and 7-0 in MAAC play.
Anna Foley had a big day, recording her third double-double of the season as she finished the day with 13 points and ten rebounds. Foley shot 41% from the field and added two steals and a block to her stat line. Ella O'Donnell tied for the team lead with 13 points as she shot 50% from the floor and went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. Karson Martin added 12 points off the bench in 22 minutes of action. Ella Ryan also reached double figures, finishing the game with 11 points, with nine coming from three-pointers. Six Bobcats recorded points in the win as their win streak stretched to seven games.

Sacred Heart would respond and trade buckets with the Bobcats as QU held a 12-10 lead at the first quarter media timeout. Out of the break, the back-and-forth affair continued, but the Bobcats held a 21-17 lead after the opening ten minutes.
Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart continued to trade shots, but the Bobcats were able to create a bit more separation as they held an eight-point advantage, 33-25, at the media timeout. The Pioneers scored the final four points of the frame as they made it a four-point game at the break.

Out of the timeout, Quinnipiac continued to build on their lead, making it a 13-point advantage halfway through the final quarter. The final five minutes saw the Bobcats outscore the Pioneers 7-4 to help seal the win to improve to 7-0 in MAAC play.
