Sydney Ryan Scores 1,000th Collegiate Point in Win over Rider

Lawrenceville, N.J. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats improved to 5-0 in MAAC play with a 68-56 win over the Rider Broncs on Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. With the win, the Bobcats have extended their win streak to five games.
Five Bobcats reached double figures for the second straight game. Ella Ryan led the Bobcats in scoring with 15 points on 50% (5-for-10) shooting from the field and 4-for-8 (50%) shooting from three-point range. Anna Foley scored 14 points and shot 7-for-13 (53.8%) from the floor. Foley stuffed the stat sheet, recording six rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. Jackie Grisdale knocked down three three-point attempts on her way to 12 points in the win. Ella O'Donnell and Sydney Ryan each recorded ten points in the effort as Quinnipiac improved to 10-4 overall and 5-0 in MAAC play.

Ella O'Donnell got the Bobcats on the board first, but a back-and-forth opening quarter saw the Bobcats have a one-point lead, 8-7, halfway through. Out of the timeout, Rider got the scoring started, but Quinnipiac stuck with them, and the two sides were knotted at 15 at the end of the first quarter.
The Bobcats opened the second quarter on an 11-6 scoring run to give them a five-point lead at the media timeout. Out of the break, Quinnipiac continued to control the scoring, finishing on a 7-4 run and taking a 33-25 lead into the halftime break.
The Broncs got the scoring started in the third quarter, but Quinnipiac continued to keep their distance from Rider, leading 46-39 at the third quarter media timeout. Out of the media timeout, Quinnipiac scored six of the next ten points to push their lead to nine at the end of the third quarter, 52-43.
Quinnipiac's lead grew to 13 early in the fourth quarter, but Rider cut it down to a ten-point game halfway through the final quarter. The Bobcats wouldn't let the Broncs make a comeback as they sealed the 68-56 win to improve to 5-0 in conference play.
