PLUSES AND MINUTES
- Sophomore defenseman Elliott Groenewold currently leads the country at +28, four ahead of Michigan State's Charlie Stramel and five ahead of Michigan's Tyler Duke in the category.
- Since the 2010-11 season, Groenewold's rating is second to Zach Metsa (+29) on the team leaderboard and is eighth nationally in that span amongst all teams, a category led by JT Compher (+33).
- He has a plus-33 rating for his career is fourth on the team rankings.
TERRIFIC TRIO
- First years Ethan Wyttenbach and Markus Vidicek, as well as sophomore Chris Pelosi, are leading the way for the Bobcats offensively as they head down the stretch.
- Vidicek leads the way on the team with 15 goals, while Wyttenbach and Pelosi have 14 apiece to provide the balanced effort. They are the only trio of teammates in the country with 14 or more goals this season.
- It is also the first time in the program's Division I history that three Quinnipiac players have each had 14-plus goals at this point in the season.
FIRST IS THE... BEST
- Starting fast has been a recipe for success for the Bobcats in the last two seasons, as scoring the first goal has usually meant a win in the end. Entering the weekend, they are 32-1-1 when scoring the opening tally since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.
- The lone blemishes have come this year, when they tied Alaska and fell to Yale.
THREE'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
- The Bobcat offense has consistently provided winning ways throughout the first half, scoring three-plus goals in 19 contests and not losing any of those games, going 18-0-1.
- Of the 11 unbeaten teams when they score three or more, Michigan is the only team without a blemish, going 19-0. Union is the only team along with the Bobcats with a singular tie.
HOBEY HOPEFUL
- First year forward Ethan Wyttenbach was tabbed as a 2026 Hobey Baker Award nominee, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.
- The Roslyn, N.Y., native is first amongst all first-years in the country in points with 36 and tied for second amongst all skaters in that category. He has also recorded a point in 22 games this season, the most of any skater in the country.
- He went on a nine-game point streak from Nov. 4 to Dec. 5, the second-longest streak of anybody in the nation and also put together a seven-game stretch to begin his collegiate career.
