Watson Nets First Hat Trick in No. 6 Bobcats’ Win Over Colgate

HAMDEN, Conn. - The No. 6 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team extended its winning streak to six games with a 5-1 victory over Colgate on Friday night.
Kahlen Lamarche opened the scoring early in the first period with her 28th goal of the season.
ECAC defender of the week Makayla Watson doubled the lead, scoring her fourth goal of the season following a faceoff win by Emerson Jarvis.
After a scoreless second period, Quinnipiac broke the game open with two goals in a 40-second span from Lamarche and Watson to make it 4-0.
Colgate got on the board with a goal from its scoring leader, Elyssa Biederman.
Watson completed her first career hat trick with an empty-net goal, becoming the first Quinnipiac defenseman in 15 years to record a hat trick.
Felicia Frank made 30 saves on 31 shots to earn her 20th win of the season.

- The win snapped Colgate's six-game winning streak against Quinnipiac, dating back to Jan. 23, 2023.
- Kahlen Lamarche moved up to 2nd on Quinnipiac's all-time single-season goal leaderboard in Division I after scoring twice. She is now two goals shy of breaking a 15-year program record.
- Lamarche recorded her 11th multi-goal game and 14th multi-point game of the season.
- Makayla Watson extended her point streak to six games and recorded her first career hat trick. She is the first Quinnipiac defenseman in 15 years to accomplish the feat.
