No. 6/7 Bobcats Earn Spot in CT Ice Final with Win Over Sacred Heart

HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 6/7 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey extended its win streak to seven games and has won 14 of its last 15, knocking off Sacred Heart in the 2026 CT Ice Semifinals on Friday night by a final of 5-1.
The Bobcats scored the opening goal again, as Anthony Cipollone chopped home a loose puck off a centering feed form Matthew McGroarty to make it 1-0.
A pair came 2:22 apart in the second, with a pair of defensemen scoring in Elliott Groenewold and Will Gilson.
Ethan Wyttenbach and Andon Cerbone added insurance in the third, with Wyttenbach finding twine for the 14th time this season before Cerbone potted his in the empty net to seal the win.
Dylan Silverstein had another good night in net, saving 24 of 25 shots on net in the win.

Quinnipiac will take on the winner of UConn and Yale on Saturday night, with puck drop at 7:30 p.m., exclusively on SNY.

- Cipollone scored his first goal of the season and ninth of his career.

- Wyttenbach has a team-best 35 points now on the season, finishing the game with his 22nd game of the season with a point and ninth, multi-point outing of the year.
- He also has a point in five straight games, totaling eight in that stretch.
- Mason Marcellus finished the night with two assists and now sits four points away from 100 for his collegiate career.
- Czerneckianair posted a pair of assists, his first multi-assist game of the season and third of his career. He has points in seven of his last nine.
