Sydney Ryan Leads Bobcats to 10th Straight Win

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats won their tenth straight game, defeating the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, 56-43, on Thursday night in Hamden. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 15-4 and 10-0 in MAAC play.
Sydney Ryan led the Bobcats in scoring, dropping 15 points on 54.5% (6-for-11) from the field and knocking down one three-pointer. Ryan finished the day with six rebounds and two steals, which led the team. Jackie Grisdale was second on the team in scoring, finishing with 14 points and knocking down three three-pointers. Eight Bobcats recorded points in the thirteen-point win over the Mountaineers as the Bobcats remain unbeaten in MAAC play.

The Mountaineers got on the board first before the Bobcats responded with six straight points. With the Bobcats leading 8-4 after the media timeout, Mount St. Mary's would take the lead back, leading the Bobcats 12-11 after the opening quarter.
Quinnipiac responded to start the second quarter, beginning on an 8-0 scoring run, forcing the Mountaineers to call a timeout. Quinnipiac's lead got up to 13 before the Mountaineers cut the deficit to seven as QU led 28-21 at the halftime break.
Paige Girardi got the Bobcats on the board first in the second half and helped lead the Bobcats to an eleven-point lead at the third quarter media timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats improved on their lead, making it a seventeen-point game as the Mountaineers called a timeout with less than a minute left in the quarter. The Mountaineers got a layup to fall to make it 44-29 at the end of the third quarter.
The Mountaineers would outscore the Bobcats in the final ten minutes, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats won 56-43 to improve to 10-0 in MAAC play.
