Bobcats Win 8th Straight, Down Red Foxes

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats extended their win streak to eight as the Bobcats defeated the Marist Red Foxes, 59-47, on Saturday afternoon in Hamden. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 13-4 overall and 8-0 in MAAC play.
Ella O'Donnell picked up her second double-double of the season, finishing the day with 15 points and 12 rebounds. O'Donnell was held off the scoreboard in the opening half, and after two points in the third quarter, she exploded for 13 in the final ten minutes. O'Donnell dished out a team-high seven assists in the win. Ella Ryan tied for the team lead with 15 points on 50% (5-for-10) shooting from the field. Jackie Grisdale reached double figures in the win, scoring 13 on 71% shooting.

Jackie Grisdale got the Bobcats on the board first, less than a minute into the contest, before the Bobcats made it a 6-0 start just four minutes into the contest. After the media timeout, where the Bobcats led by seven, the Bobcats were able to make it an eight-point game after the opening frame.
The second quarter started low scoring for both teams, with the Bobcats and Red Foxes each scoring just one field goal at the media timeout. Out of the timeout, the Red Foxes had the slight scoring advantage, outscoring the Bobcats 9-8 in the final four minutes of the second quarter.
Quinnipiac kicked off the second quarter on a 7-0 scoring run, forcing the Red Foxes to call a timeout with 6:42 left in the third quarter. With the Bobcats leading by fourteen, the Red Foxes took back the scoring touch, outscoring QU 12-7 in the final half of the quarter to make it a nine-point game.
Four quick points from the Red Foxes to start the fourth quarter forced the Bobcats to use an early timeout, with their lead being cut down to five. Out of the break, Quinnipiac got five straight points to push their lead back to ten. Marist would bounce right back, making it a three-point game with 4:04 to play. After the Bobcats called another timeout, Quinnipiac would finish the game on a 13-4 run to down the Red Foxes, 59-47.
