QU Takes 5 of 7 Singles Matchups on Final Day of Army Fall Opener

WEST POINT, NY - Quinnipiac men's tennis finished off action at the Army Fall Opener on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats took 5 of 7 singles matchups against Holy Cross.

First-year Prithvi Sudhakar picked up his first win as a Bobcat on the day.

1.   Carlos Braun Simo (QU) Def. De la Plaza (Holy Cross): 6-0, 4-1, ret.
2.   Carlson (Holy Cross) Def. Carl Sjoholm (QU): 7-6, 4-6, 12-10
3.   Elias Hoxha (QU) Def. Callery (Holy Cross): 6-2, 7-6
4.   Alessandro Sciacca (QU) Def. Ling (Holy Cross): 4-6, 6-3, 10-4
5.   Csanad Nyaradi (QU) Def. Jhaveri (Holy Cross): 6-3, 6-3
6.   Illanes (Holy Cross) Def. Gaurav Mootha (QU): 6-3, 6-3
7.   Prithvi Sudhakar (QU) Def. Prokopis (Holy Cross): 2-6, 6-0, 11-9

Doubles Results
1.   Anderson/De Fruscia (Hofstra) Def. Carlos Braun Simo & Alessandro Sciacca (QU): 6-4
2.   Finn Burridge & Elias Hoxha (QU) Def. Albeg/Garcia (Hofsta): 6-3
3.   Ling/Illanes (Holy Cross) def. Gaurav Mootha & Carl Sjoholm (QU): 6-3

NOTES
•   Carlos Braun Simo is now 3-0 in singles action, earning three consecutive victories from the No. 1 spot to begin 2025-26.
•   Csanad Nyaradi, Elias Hoxha, and Alessandro Sciacca all won 2 of 3 singles battles over the tournament. All three picked up a win on the final day.
•   Finn Burridge / Elias Hoxha are now 3-0 as a doubles tandem so far this fall.

•   The Bobcats return to action on Sept. 19, making the short trip to Fairfield to continue the fall schedule.
