HEMPSTEAD, New York – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team dropped its 2025 season opener, 3-0, to the Hofstra Pride on Sunday afternoon on Long Island.

After 37 minutes of scoreless action, the Pride got on the scoreboard with a penalty kick goal in the 38^th minute. The Bobcats were outshot 3-2 in the opening 45 minutes and earned two corner kicks to Hofstra's one.

The Pride tacked on two more goals in the second half to earn the 3-0 win in their second contest of the season.

Gwen Hoyt got the start in goal for the Bobcats and recorded two saves in 79 minutes of action.
