Golf Set to Compete in Gold Canyon Regional

GOLD CANYON, A.Z. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team is set to compete in the Gold Canyon Regional hosted by Arizona State at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club on May 5th through the 7th.
This will be Quinnipiac's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since the 2023 season, where they finished in 12th place out of 12 teams in the West Palms Regional.
The Bobcats will open play at the Championships on Monday, May 5th, with tee times scheduled from 11:55 AM – 12:39 PM EST (8:55 – 9:39 AM MST).

- The Quinnipiac women's golf team will return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2023 season.
- Quinnipiac will participate in the Gold Canyon Region hosted by Arizona State at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.
- In 2023, the Bobcats competed in the West Palm Regional and finished in 12th place out of 12 teams.
2025 MAAC CHAMPIONS
- The Quinnipiac women's golf team captured the 2025 MAAC Tournament crown as they finished first among eight teams.
- Quinnipiac finished with a three-round total of 883 (+19), finishing 13 strokes ahead of the runners-up, UAlbany.
- First-year Sophia Fujita was the individual champion as she carded a three-day total of 217 (+1). Fujita shot a 68 (-4) in the opening round, setting a new MAAC Tournament single-round record.
CAPTAIN SANDHYA
- Head Coach John O'Connor named Sandhya Vaikuntam the team captain on January 21st.
- "Sandhya has developed into the leader of the golf team and has taken on the task of leading one of the best golf teams ever to compete for Quinnipiac. Sandhya has earned the respect of the golf team and continues to bring them together to return the championship trophy to Quinnipiac. Sandhya continues to work hard at practice, in the weight room, and in the classroom, and is the epitome of a team leader." – Head Coach John O'Connor
FALL SEASON RECAP
- The Bobcats competed in four tournaments in their fall season, highlighted by hosting the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 14-15).
- The team's best finish was a second-place finish in their first tournament of the year, the Red Bandana Intercollegiate hosted by Boston College.
- QU played in the 15-team Navy Fall Invitational and finished in 5th place, finishing with a team score of +39.
- The Bobcats finished in a tie for third place in the Quinnipiac Classic, held at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
- Quinnipiac wrapped up their fall schedule with the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. QU sat in 5th place after the first day and stormed back on the second day to earn a second-place finish.
