Women's Tennis Claims MAAC-Record 8th Championship

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - Quinnipiac Women's Tennis claimed its MAAC-record eighth conference title this afternoon, defeating Fairfield 4-3 in the two teams' fourth consecutive meeting in the MAAC Championship match.
MAAC Player of the Year Willow Renton played the hero, coming back from a set down to win her last two sets 6-2, 6-4. She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer for her efforts at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Despite Quinnipiac dropping the doubles point, it got singles wins from Renton, Anagha Shankar, Vera Sekerina, and Caroline Schulson. Sekerina also came back from a set down while Shankar and Schulson cruised to straight sets victories.

- Since joining the league, the Bobcats are 92-5 against MAAC opponents, including postseason play.
- QU also improves to 19-4 versus Fairfield, who makes up four of QU's five losses in MAAC tennis play.
