Bobcats Defeat Mountaineers To Spilt Season Series

EMMITSBURG, MD. – All five starters for the Bobcats reached double figures as they defeated Mount St. Mary's on the road 64-60 on Thursday night in Maryland.
Jackie Grisdale led the Bobcats in scoring with 14 points on 4-10 (40%) shooting from three-point range. Gal Raviv recorded a double-double in the win with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Anna Foley stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, six assists, five rebounds, three blocks, and three steals. In her first start of the season, Paige Girardi scored a season-high 11 points on 4-for-6 (67%) shooting from the floor and 3-for-5 (60%) from three-point range. Grace LaBarge picked up ten points in the win including two big threes down the stretch.
The Bobcats got off to a red-hot start and led Mount St. Mary's 12-0 at the media timeout. Quinnipiac continued to score out of the timeout as they ended the opening ten minutes with a 17-5 advantage.
Mount St. Mary's cut their deficit to ten early in the second frame, but two unanswered buckets by the Bobcats forced the Mountaineers to call a timeout. Out of their timeout, Mount St. Mary's closed out the quarter on a 12-7 run, however, Quinnipiac still held the lead, 31-22.
Quinnipiac and Mount St. Mary's traded points to start the second half, and Quinnipiac still held their lead, 41-31, at the third quarter media timeout. Mountaineers closed out the quarter on a 10-7 run to cut into Quinnipiac's lead, making it 48-41 at the end of the third quarter.
The final quarter saw the Mountaineers outscore the Bobcats 19-16 in the final ten minutes. Mount St. Mary's got as close as two, but Quinnipiac would not let them get any closer as they held on for the 64-60 win.
