Fujita and Flores Pace Bobcats as They Finish in Fifth

OLDSMAR, Fla. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished the second tournament of their spring season, placing 5th at the two-day Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational in Oldsmar, Florida.
First-year Sophia Fujita and Marisa Flores both shot a 79 (+7) in the second round of the Invitational, finishing in a tie for 16th place. Fujita and Flores each recorded a two-round total of 158 (+14).
Sophomore Samantha Galantini shot an 84 (+12), which moved her to finish in a tie for 30th place with a final score of 161 (+17). Senior Fuge Zhang posted an 82 (+10) in round two and shot a 163 (+19), finishing in a tie for 40th place. First-year Vaidehi Shah moved up 14 spots to come in a tie for 61st place after recording a second-round score of 82 (+10).
For the Quinnipiac B grouping, Sophomore Alexia Egdahl moved up nine spots to come in 66th place, recording an 83 (+11) in the second round. Sophomore Amy Goddard also came in 66th place with a second-round score of 86 (+14). Senior Meg Yoshida finished the second day with a score of 88 (+16), which put her in a 79th-place finish.
Sophomore Natalie Spiska also made a significant jump, moving up 10 spots after carding an 81 (+9). Junior Sandhya Vaikuntam recorded an 86 (+14) on the final day of the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational.
The Bobcats will travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina, from March 21 to 23 to attend the three-day Wofford Invitational.

- The Bobcats A group recorded 12 birdies throughout the tournament, placing 6th on the leaderboards.
- Quinnipiac A finished with 89 pars and Quinnipiac B finished with 66 pars for a program total of 155.
- Vaidehi Shah, Samantha Galantini, and Marisa Flores all recorded three total birdies, tied for 13th in the entire field.
- Sophia Fujita led the team with 22 pars, which was good for fifth best.
