Golf Finishes Day One in Fourth Place

OLDSMAR, Fla. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team placed fourth (316, +28) after day one of the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational in Oldsmar, Florida.
Sophomore Samantha Galantini shot a 77 (+5) in the first round of the Invitational, finishing in a tie for seventh place. Galantini shot par on eleven of 18 holes and recorded one birdie.
First-years Marisa Flores and Sophia Fujita tied for 17th place, shooting a 79 (+7) in the first round of the tournament.
Fuge Zhang finished day one in a five-way tie for 33rd place, finishing the day at 81 (+9). Finishing behind Zhang was Amy Goddard, who tied for 51st place.
Junior Sandhya Vaikuntam and senior Meg Yoshida tied for 60th place (85, +13). Alexia Egdahl and Vaidehi Shah came in 75th place, and Natalie Spiska rounded out the Quinnipiac B grouping in a tie for 90th place.
The Bobcats will return to the course on Tuesday, Mar. 11th as they close out play at the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational with a 9:15 AM shotgun start.
