Bobcats Close Out Road Trip With Big Win Over Niagara

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team wrapped up their trip to Western New York with a 70-38 win over the Niagara Purple Eagles on Saturday. The 32-point victory marks the largest margin of victory over Niagara since the 2019 season.
Karson Martin led the scoring for the Bobcats, scoring 19 points on 62% (8-13) shooting from the floor and 3-for-3 from three-point range. Anna Foley had herself a day on both ends of the floor, scoring ten points, dishing out eight assists, grabbing seven rebounds, and recording three steals and two blocks. Eight different Bobcats pitched into the scoring efforts to complete the Western New York sweep.
Niagara got the game's first points on a three, but the Bobcats came storming back with a 9-0 run to force the Purple Eagles to call a timeout. QU held their lead for the remainder of the opening quarter and finished the first ten minutes with a 13-9 lead.
Quinnipiac's lead stretched to ten early in the second quarter but held just a four-point lead at the media timeout. The Bobcats would finish the half on a 14-4 run and take a 33-19 lead into halftime.
An 11-5 run for the Bobcats to start the second half pushed their lead to 20, forcing Niagara to call a timeout. QU continued their run, closing out the third quarter with the 54-30 advantage.
The Bobcats dominated the final quarter, doubling Niagara's scoring output in the frame. The Bobcats would defeat the Purple Eagles 70-38, their largest margin of victory over Niagara since 2019.
