Bobcats Dominate Pioneers in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team returned home for the first time since Feb. 1 in a big way as they defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers 71-47 on Thursday evening. With the win, the Bobcats clinched a 20-win season, the 13th in Tricia Fabbri's career.
Gal Raviv led the scoring for the Bobcats, scoring 22 points on 60% (9-for-15) shooting from the floor. Raviv stuffed the stat sheet, earning eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Anna Foley had another solid game, scoring 11 points while grabbing nine rebounds, which led the team. Grace LaBarge made an impact for the Bobcats off the bench as she scored 11 points on 56% shooting from the field. Ten Bobcats recorded points in the win.
Sacred Heart started out hot with a 12-4 run at the halfway point of the opening quarter. Quinnipiac would respond with a 12-0 run to close out the first ten minutes and take a 16-12 lead into the second quarter.
Quinnipiac continued to grow their lead as they led the Pioneers 24-17 at the second quarter media timeout. QU closed out the half with another scoring run (9-3) as they held a 13-point lead at the half.
The Bobcats came out in the second half scoring the first five points as Sacred Heart called a timeout. Quinnipiac continued to dominate the Pioneers as they closed out the third quarter with a 50-30 lead.
With the Bobcats leading by twenty to open the fourth quarter, QU looked to improve on their lead. The Bobcats made it a 25-point game at the final media timeout. Quinnipiac would not allow the Pioneers to make a comeback as the Bobcats defeated Sacred Heart 71-47.
