Raviv, Martin Lead Quinnipiac Past Canisius

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins, 56-41, on Thursday evening in Buffalo.
Gal Raviv scored 19 points on 54% shooting from the floor to lead the team. Karson Martin was second on the team with 18 points on 50% shooting and knocked down two three-pointers. Anna Foley reached double figures as she scored 10 points in the win. Foley led the Bobcats with eight rebounds.
Both teams had difficulty shooting in the opening quarter, but the Bobcats emerged from the first ten minutes with a 15-11 lead.
Quinnipiac came out strong in the second quarter, extending their lead to nine points and prompting Canisius to call a timeout. The Bobcats and Golden Griffins exchanged baskets for the rest of the quarter, with QU heading into halftime with a 35-26 advantage.
The Bobcats generated three consecutive turnovers to start the second half and held a six-point lead at the media timeout. After the timeout, the Bobcats finished the third quarter with a 10-3 run, entering the final quarter with a 49-36 advantage.
Quinnipiac would hold Canisius to just five points in the final frame as they defeated the Golden Griffins 56-41 to open up their Western New York trip.
