Bobcats Come From Behind to Defeat Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team erased a 12-point deficit to earn the come-from-behind victory over the Iona Gaels, 74-66, on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 21-3 overall and 13-2 in MAAC play.
Gal Raviv led the scoring for the Bobcats, scoring 22 points for the second straight game. Raviv shot 48% from the floor and dished out five assists in the win. Jackie Grisdale was second on the team as she scored 14 points on 57% shooting and knocking down three of four three-pointers. Anna Foley had a great day on both ends of the floor as she recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Iona came out firing in the first quarter as they shot 53.8% (7-for-13) from the field and knocked down three three-pointers to open a nine-point lead after the first ten minutes.
Iona's lead expanded to twelve as Quinnipiac called a timeout with 5:34 to play in the first half. The Bobcats went on a 10-6 run to close out the opening half but still trailed the Gaels 42-34.
The Bobcats came out hot in the second half as a 10-4 scoring run cut the deficit to two. After Iona called a timeout, the two sides traded points, and the Gaels lead was one at the end of the third quarter.
With the Bobcats trailing by just one, six unanswered points to open up the final quarter gave Quinnipiac a 59-54 lead. Out of the Iona timeout, the Gaels were able to tie the game up at 62 with just over four minutes of play left. From that point on, it was all Bobcats as they closed out the game on a 12-4 run to secure the 74-66 win over Iona.
