Five Bobcats Reach Double Figures, Defeat Yale By 23

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Women's Basketball team was powered by a fast start in their 69-46 win over the Yale Bulldogs on Tuesday night at the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven.
Ella O'Donnell led the Bobcats with 14 points on 42.9% (6-for-14) shooting from the floor and finished one rebound shy of a double-double. Sydney Ryan recorded her first double-double as a Bobcat, recording 13 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Ella Ryan (11 points), Jackie Grisdale (11 points), and Paige Girardi (10 points) each reached double figures.

GAME REWIND
Quinnipiac got on the board first and didn't look back as they led the Bulldogs 12-3 as Yale called a timeout with just under six minutes left in the opening quarter. Out of the break, the Bobcats closed out the opening ten minutes with a 15-6 run as they led Yale 27-9 after the first quarter. Jackie Grisdale led all scorers with eight points in the opening quarter.
The Bobcats and Bulldogs traded field goals to start the second half, with the Bobcats still leading by 18 at the second quarter media timeout. The Bobcats increased their lead to 20 at the halftime break, with Sydney Ryan leading the team with five points in the second quarter.
The scoring slowed down in the third quarter as a total of 18 points were scored after the halftime break. Quinnipiac outscored the Bulldogs 11-7 in the frame and entered the final quarter with a 24-point lead, 54-30.
The Bobcats continued to maintain control of the game as they held a solid lead for the entirety of the final quarter. Sydney Ryan knocked down a three to record her first double-double as a member of the Bobcats. Although the Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats in the frame, Quinnipiac wasn't affected, as they defeated the Bulldogs by 23, improving to 2-2 on the season.
