Bobcats Claim 2025 Quinnipiac Classic Title

Hamden, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's golf team took home the Quinnipiac Classic crown, finishing 1^st out of the eleven competing teams. After rain shortened day one of the tournament, the Bobcats closed out the first round of play and played the entirety of round two as they finished three strokes ahead of Boston College to earn the title.

Sophomore Marisa Flores was Quinnipiac's highest finisher in the tournament, finishing in a tie for third place. Flores shot a 77 (+5) in the first round of the tournament, before shooting a 73 (+1) on the final 18 holes. Sophia Fujita came in 5^th place, finishing just one stroke behind Flores.

Natalie Spiska picked up another top-ten finish as she finished in a tie for 8^th place. Spiska shot an 82 (+10) in the opening round and bounced back with a 72 (E) in the final round.

Samantha Galantini finished in a three-way tie for 11^th place after scoring a two-round total of 155 (+11). Tekla Fine-Lease finished one stroke behind Galantini as she was the highest finisher in the Quinnipiac B grouping. Vaidehi Shah rounded out the Quinnipiac A grouping as she finished in a tie for 24^th place.

Alexia Egdhal finished with a two-round total of 166 (+22), while Michelle Wong and Sandhya Vaikuntam finished with a 169 (+25) and a 170 (+26), respectively. Amy Goddard finished two strokes behind Vaikuntam with a two-round total of 172 (+28).

This marks the second team title that the Bobcats have won so far this fall season, with the last one coming at the Autumn Harvest Tournament hosted by Lehigh.

SCORES AND NOTES

Marisa Flores was the highest finisher out of all the Bobcats that competed in the Quinnipiac Classic. Flores' best round was round two as she shot a 73 (+1).
Sophia Fujita carded a 75 (+3) in the first round and a 76 (+4) in the second round to finish in 5^th place.
Natalie Spiska shot a team-best 72 (E) in the second round of play.
In the first round, Samantha Galantini shot a 77 (+5), and she followed up with a 78 (+6) in the second round.
Tekla Fine-Lease was the highest finisher in the Quinnipiac B grouping, coming in a tie for 14^th place. Fine-Lease finished with a two-round total of 156 (+12).
Vaidehi Shah bounced back in the second round as she carded a 76 (+4).
Sandhya Vaikuntam's best round of the tournament came in the final round as she recorded an 81 (+9).
With the team tournament win, the Bobcats have secured two team titles so far this season (Autumn Harvest).
