QU Comes Up Short at Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball lost a hard-fought road battle to the Fairfield Stags, 72-63, on Thursday night.
Gal Raviv had another 20+ point performance, scoring 21 points on 10-for-17 (58.8%) shooting from the floor. Grace LaBarge picked up ten points off the bench, shooting 50% from three-point range. Six different Bobcats scored points in the road loss.
The Stags kicked off the contest on a 10-0 run, forcing the Bobcats to call a timeout. QU will respond out of their timeout as they cut the deficit to three, 17-14, at the end of the first quarter.
The Bobcats and Stags battled in the second quarter, with the Bobcats taking a three-point advantage on a three from Gal Raviv. Fairfield would respond and take a 36-32 lead into halftime.
Fairfield's lead grew to seven out of halftime, but a fast-break layup from Grace LaBarge made it a three-point game at the media timeout. Gal Raviv would knot the game at 52 to end the third quarter.
Quinnipiac and Fairfield were even at 54 with just under nine minutes to play before Fairfield powered past the Bobcats with a 72-63 win.
