The Bobcats played Northeastern in a home exhibition contest on Oct. 6 but will be playing the Skyhawks for the first time in the program's Division I history.
FINDING THEIR STRIDE
- After a 3-5-0 start to the campaign, the Bobcats have started to hit a groove, going 7-1-1 over their last nine contests and currently find themselves top of the ECAC standings.
- The .833 winning percentage is third best over that span, with only Michigan State (.863) and Minnesota State (.938) having a better rate.
- They have killed off 21 of 22 opposing power plays since Nov. 15, which is fifth in the country over that span.
NEW HOCK(L)EY PLAYER
- Defenseman Drew Hockley made the jump from the BCHL to the NCAA for the second semester of the season, coming over from the Victoria Grizzlies.
- The Kentville, Nova Scotia native recorded 24 points in 23 games with eight goals and 16 assists before making the jump.
- He has made two starts since coming to Quinnipiac, paired with assistant captain Davis Pennington in both contests.
JACK OF ALL GOALSCORERS
- Grad student Jack Ricketts set a new Division I program mark on Sunday afternoon, scoring four goals in 39 minutes, including a natural hat trick, to aid the Bobcats in their 6-5 victory over AIC.
- Ricketts recorded his second hat trick of 2024 and the Bobcats' first of the season. It was also the first natural hat trick since Travis St. Denis in 2014.
- With the four tallies, he took over the NCAA active goalscoring lead with 54 to his name, three ahead of Minnesota's Jimmy Snuggerud.
MAGIC MASON
- The Greely, Ontario native is on the longest points streak of his career, currently recording a point in nine consecutive contests.. He has recorded ten points over that span, the third-longest active streak in the country.
- He has recorded an assist in six consecutive contests, tied for the longest active streak. Providence's Logan Will has a six-game helper stretch, the longest active in the country.
- With a point on Saturday night, he would become the ninth Bobcat in the program's Division I history to record a double-digit points streak and the first since Collin Graf in 2022.
POWERED UP
- The Quinnipiac power play has been a strong point during the 2024-25 campaign, as the Bobcats boast one of the nation's most potent attacks with the man advantage.
- Quinnipiac enters the New Year with the ECAC's second-highest power-play percentage at 25.0, while that number also puts them ninth in the nation.
- The Bobcats have scored a power play goal in eight of their last ten games, led by captain Travis Treloar who has five man-up goals.
