Zimmerman's Career Night Leads QU Past Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball improved to 3-0 in MAAC play on Friday night at Run Baby Run Arena, as the Bobcats downed Saint Peter's by the final score of 59-46.
Jaden Zimmerman led QU with 16 points, which marks a new career-high total for the first-year guard. He shot 6-of-13 over 31 minutes, and knocked down three 3-pointers in the victory.
Paul Otieno recorded another double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Amarri Monroe chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. Khaden Bennett also tallied 13 points.
The Bobcats went on an impressive 15-0 run over the final five minutes of the first half and never looked back. Otieno and Zimmerman both scored 11 first-half points.
Quinnipiac now moves to 3-0 to begin MAAC play for the first time since 2019-20.

- Quinnipiac shot 22-of-62 in total. The Bobcats knocked down six triples (three of which came from Jaden Zimmerman).
- QU outrebounded Saint Peter's 44-35, and the Bobcats grabbed 17 offensive rebounds (six OREB for Paul Otieno).
- Zimmerman's career-high total of 16 points marks his fourth consecutive double-digit point total performance. The Bronx, New York-native is up to 9.5 points per game during his first season in Hamden.
- Paul Otieno already has six double-doubles in 2024-25. He's averaging 4.4 offensive rebounds a night, and is shooting 57.0% from the floor through 14 games.
- Amarri Monroe chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. He leads the Bobcats in scoring (14.6 PPG) this year.
- Khaden Bennett has registerd 10+ points in eight of QU's last nine contests.
- Alexis Reyes recorded five points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals off the bench for QU.
- QU's largest lead was 22 points. The Bobcats led for 38:41 in the wire-to-wire road win.
- Quinnipiac blocked 11 shots which ties a season-best mark. Big man Paul Otieno blocked three more shots to give him 26 so far this season.
- The Bobcats are now 10-15 all-time against Saint Peter's. QU has taken four of the last five matchups.
- Quinnipiac returns to the floor on Sunday, Jan. 5, as the Bobcats are set to travel to Poughkeepsie to take on Marist. Both the Bobcats and Red Foxes are 3-0 to begin MAAC action.
