HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 9/8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey returns from a 26-day break to face Union and RPI in New York this upcoming weekend. QU enters the weekend sixth in the ECAC and ranked No. 9/8 nationally.

SCOUTING UNION

Union is 8-11-1 with wins over Robert Morris, RIT, Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell, Vermont, RPI, and Brown.
Union is led by head coach Tony Maci, in his first season.
Riley Walsh leads the Garnet Chargers with 27 points.
QU is 38-1-4 versus Union since 2001.

SCOUTING RPI

RPI is 11-7-2 with wins over Holy Cross, SHU, Syracuse, Dartmouth, Harvard, Merrimack, Assumption, Brown, and Yale.
They are led by head coach Bryan Vines.
Aylah Cioffi leads the Engineers with 12 points.
The Bobcats are 27-13-2 versus RPI since 2003, winning the last nine since 2019.

NATIONAL LEADERS

The Bobcats are currently second nationally in team shutouts with eight between goalies Kaley Doyle (5) and Felicia Frank (3).
Doyle is also tied for second nationnaly in shutouts with five. She currently sits in the top five nationally for goals against average (1.19) and save percentage (.951).
The Bobcats sit second in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 1.2 goals per game.
QU's penalty kill currently is tied for fifth in the nation at 88 percent, and have the second least amount of penalty minutes per game at 4.3.

COOP'S CHASIN' HISTORY

Bobcat captain Kendall Cooper currently sits in 7th place in all-time points with 106 after tying Emma Woods '17.
She owns the most points by a defender in program history and also sits in third place all-time with 74 assists.

KIDS DAY WIN OVER SHU

QU survived its 11:00 AM game with Sacred Heart 2-1 on Tuesday morning.
Emerson Jarvis played the hero, scoring with just 69 seconds left to win.

NUTMEG CLASSIC

QU competed in the Nutmeg Classic this past weekend, defeating SHU 8-1 before going to a shootout with Yale in the championship game.
Yale ended the Bobcats' hopes at a five-peat winning in the shootout, but the game would ultimately stay as a tie on each team's record.
Kahlen Lamarche was named to the All- Tournament team with her first career hat trick coming in the first game versus SHU.

CORNELL-COLGATE

The Bobcats played to a 3-3 tie with Cornell on Friday night, with Watson, Lamarche, and Prier each scoring.
On Saturday QU fell 4-1 to No. 5 Colgate. Kendall Cooper scored the lone goal for the Bobcats.

ONE GOAL GAMES

QU defeated both Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend by scores of 2-1 (OT) and 1-0.
On Friday night, Laurence Frenette scored the game-tying goal with 2:15 to go and the extra attacker out for the Bobcats.
Jenna Donohue sent the Bobcats home with an OT game-winner 45 seconds in to the frame.
On Saturday, Kendall Cooper scored the Bobcats' lone goal in the third period and Kaley Doyle made 15 saves for the shutout.
QU also notched a 1-0 win over LIU in their game last Tuesday.
Kendall Cooper hit Kahlen Lamarche for the game-winner in the first period.

COOPER NAMED DEFENDER OF THE WEEK

After notching an assist on Jenna Donohue's overtime game-winner at Dartmouth and scoring the lone goal in QU's 1-0 win over Harvard, Kendall Cooper was named ECAC Hockey's Defender of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

TWO TOP TEN WINS

The Bobcats took down No. 5 Clarkson and No. 7 St. Lawrence last weekend by a combined scored of 6-1.
Kathryn Stockdale scored the game-winner over Clarkson while Jenna Donohue notched two goals against St. Lawrence.

DOYLE EARNS THIRD ECAC HOCKEY GOALIE OF THE WEEK

Goaltender Kaley Doyle made 52 saves this weekend while only allowing one goal to earn ECAC honors for the third time this season.

CLOSE OPENING ECAC WEEKEND

On Friday night, the Bobcats fell in their opening ECAC game 2-1, in overtime to Brown.
Jenna Donohue scored her first goal of the season in the loss.
On Saturday afternoon, QU tied Yale 1-1 and took home a shootout win.
Taylor Brueske scored her first collegiate goal in the loss.

HOME SWEEP OVER SYRACUSE

Last weekend the Bobcats outscored Syracuse 8-1 over two games in Hamden.
Maya Labad had a four-goal weekend, including her first career hat trick in Saturday's contest, to garner her ECAC Forward of the Week honors.
Felicia Frank got her second consecutive shutout in Friday's 4-0 win.
Makayla Watson dished three assists over the two games.

BOBCATS SPLIT WITH PROVIDENCE

In the first half of the home-and-home with Providence, QU struck late to win 1-0 last Tuesday night.
Maddy Samoskevich ripped a shot from the slot with less than four minutes to go to win it for the Bobcats.
First year goaltender Felicia Frank made 23 saves in her first collegiate start to shutout the Friars.
In the second game of the home-and-home, a week later, the Bobcats fell 3-2 in Providence, RI.
Kendall Cooper and Emerson Jarvis scored for the Bobcats.

BOUNCE BACK WIN OVER NORTHEASTERN

After falling 4-2 on Friday evening, the Bobcats bounced back to win 3-0 over the Huskies.
Kaley Doyle notched her third shutout of the season, making 28 saves.
Maya Labad kept her scoring touch, finding the back of the net on the first goal of the Bobcats three in their win on Saturday.

DOMINANT WINS OVER MAINE

The Bobcats outscored Maine 11-0 in their opening weekend series against the Black Bears.
Kaley Doyle made 44 saves combined.
Maya Labad and Kahlen Lamarche each tallied four points on the weekend.

LABAD AND DOYLE TABBED FOR ECAC WEEKLY AWARDS

After a dominant weekend, Kaley Doyle was named ECAC Hockey's MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week, while Maya Labad was named Forward of the Week.
Doyle made 44 saves for the first back-to-back shutouts of her career.
Labad tallied the seventh multi-goal game of her career before adding another one on Saturday afternoon.

SAMO'S NEW LOOK

Former Bobcat defender Maddy Samoskevich has moved to forward and changed her number from No. 7 to No. 11 ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Her older sister, former Bobcat captain Melissa Samoskevich '19 wore No. 11 in her time at Quinnipiac.

#9/8 IN THE POLLS

The Bobcats have been ranked No. 9/8 nationally in each of the latest national polls and in the preseason (USCHO & USA Hockey).

STRONG RETURNING GROUP

The Bobcats will return two of their top three scorers as well as seven of the top 15 from a year ago.
Kahlen Lamarche leads the pack, scoring 11 goals and dishing 23 assists for 34 points in her rookie season while Kendall Cooper was right behind her with 33 points.
Maya Labad (27 points), Maddy Samoskevich (21 points), Sophie Urban (12 points), Zoe Uens (11 points), and Emerson Jarvis (8 points) round out the top scoring returners.

NEW FACES, SAME GOAL

The Bobcats welcome 14 newcomers this season including eight first year players and six transfers. Of the six transfers there are four graduate students.
Kaley Doyle (Brown), Jenna Donohue (Dartmouth), Meg Rittenhouse (Colby), and Kathryn Stockdale(UConn) each transferred with one year of eligibility left.
Laurence Frenette (Clarkson) and Tessa Holk (Colgate) round out the transfer group.
The first year class includes four international players, Felicia Frank (Sweden), Makayla Watson (Canada), Avery Bairos (Canada) and Aynsley D'Ottavio (Canada).
Taylor Brueske and Hailey Jussila are each from Minnesota while Ella Sennick is from Pennsylvania and Bryn Prier is from Florida.

QU REVEALS CAPTAINS

Graduate defender Kendall Cooper will serve as the Bobcats' captain, stepping up from her assistant captain position a season ago.
She is joined by graduate forwards Maddy Samoskevich and Sophie Urban who each announced their returns to Hamden in the spring.

LAST YEAR (2023-24)

The Bobcats recently completed a stellar 2023-24 season, with a third-straight 25 or more win season.
QU finished 5th in the ECAC, securing a home game for the opening round in the playoff format where they defeated Harvard 9-0.
Kate Reilly and Kendall Cooper were named to the All-ECAC Third Team for their performance on the ice. Reilly led the Bobcats with 39 total points (10 goals, 29 assists). Cooper was also a weapon in the offensive zone with 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists).
Kahlen Lamarche was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team after finishing second in points on last year's squad (11 goals, 23 assists). She was named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice as well as ECAC Rookie of the Month for December.
