HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey is traveling to open the 2024-25 season at Maine on Friday night. They will play two games against the Black Bears, Friday night's game will be at 6:00 PM and Saturday's game will begin at 3:00 PM, both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

COOP'S CHASIN' HISTORY
- Bobcat captain Kendall Cooper currently sits in 11th place in all-time points and just eight points behind Kate Reilly for most points by a defender.
- Reilly set the record at 98 a season ago.
- Cooper is also tied for fifth with Sadie Peart on the all-time assist list with 64.
SAMO'S NEW LOOK
- Former Bobcat defender Maddy Samoskevich has moved to forward and changed her number from No. 7 to No. 11 ahead of the 2024-25 season.
- Her older sister, former Bobcat captain Melissa Samoskevich '19 wore No. 11 in her time at Quinnipiac.
#10 IN THE POLLS
- The Bobcats have been ranked No. 10 nationally in each of the latest national polls and in the preseason (USCHO & USA Hockey).
STRONG RETURNING GROUP
- The Bobcats will return two of their top three scorers as well as seven of the top 15 from a year ago.
- Kahlen Lamarche leads the pack, scoring 11 goals and dishing 23 assists for 34 points in her rookie season while Kendall Cooper was right behind her with 33 points.
- Maya Labad (27 points), Maddy Samoskevich (21 points), Sophie Urban (12 points), Zoe Uens (11 points), and Emerson Jarvis (8 points) round out the top scoring returners.
NEW FACES, SAME GOAL
- The Bobcats welcome 14 newcomers this season including eight first year players and six transfers. Of the six transfers there are four graduate students.
- Kaley Doyle (Brown), Jenna Donohue (Dartmouth), Meg Rittenhouse (Colby), and Kathryn Stockdale(UConn) each transferred with one year of eligibility left.
- Laurence Frenette (Clarkson) and Tessa Holk (Colgate) round out the transfer group.
- The first year class includes four international players, Felicia Frank (Sweden), Makayla Watson (Canada), Avery Bairos (Canada) and Aynsley D'Ottavio (Canada).
- Taylor Brueske and Hailey Jussila are each from Minnesota while Ella Sennick is from Pennsylvania and Bryn Prier is from Florida.
QU REVEALS CAPTAINS
- Graduate defender Kendall Cooper will serve as the Bobcats' captain, stepping up from her assistant captain position a season ago.
- She is joined by graduate forwards Maddy Samoskevich and Sophie Urban who each announced their returns to Hamden in the spring.
LAST YEAR (2023-24)
- The Bobcats recently completed a stellar 2023-24 season, with a third-straight 25 or more win season.
- QU finished 5th in the ECAC, securing a home game for the opening round in the playoff format where they defeated Harvard 9-0.
- Kate Reilly and Kendall Cooper were named to the All-ECAC Third Team for their performance on the ice. Reilly led the Bobcats with 39 total points (10 goals, 29 assists). Cooper was also a weapon in the offensive zone with 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists).
- Kahlen Lamarche was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team after finishing second in points on last year's squad (11 goals, 23 assists). She was named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice as well as ECAC Rookie of the Month for December.
