Francisca Eschoyez Named Big East Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – First Year defender Francisca Eschoyez was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Eschoyez is coming off a record-tying weekend, scoring four goals in Quinnipiac's 7-1 win over Merrimack and scoring one goal against Lafayette Friday evening. In the matchup against Merrimack she also tallied an assist. Against Merrimack she tied the program record set by Heather Cady (vs. Siena Oct. 2, 1999) with four goals and nine points.

The first year from Turin, Italy currently leads the Bobcats in goals (7), points (15), shots on goal (18), and shooting percentage (.212). This marks the first time a Bobcat has been named Big East Freshman of the Week since Cristina Torres on Nov. 1, 2022.

The Bobcats open Big East play Friday afternoon, hosting Providence in Hamden, Conn. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium. The game is set to begin at 3:00 PM.
