HAMDEN, Conn. - Francisca Eschoyez scored four times for the Bobcats during an impressive offensive performance on Sunday in Hamden, powering Quinnipiac past Merrimack by the final score of 7-1.

Eschoyez scored three times in the first half, then added one second-half score to help lead QU to its second win of the 2024 season.

The Bobcats scored seven goals in total - the most the program has tallied in a single game since 2004 (QU scored eight times vs. St. Francis on Oct. 10, 2024.

Lucia Pompeo added a pair of goals in the victory, and Lucia Donati chipped in with a goal of her own. First-Year Martina Calveira recorded four assists.

NOTES

Both of QU's first-year athletes, Francisca Eschoyez and Martina Calveira, made a mark in the program's record book during the seven-goal outburst. Eschoyez has now tied QU's single-game record for goals (Heather Cady also scored four goals vs. Siena on Oct. 2, 1999), while Calveira set a new team mark for assists in a game.
QU outshot Merrimack 41-2 in total. The Bobcats also earned 22 penalty corner chances (12 in the first half, 10 in the second half).
Eschoyez now leads QU with seven goals over the Bobcats' first six contests. The first-year Bobcat has scored in four different games already during her QU career.
Calveira's four assists are the first four helpers (and points) of her collegiate career.
Kate Zamagni, Mo Quaile and Eschoyez each chipped in with an assist.
Quinnipiac moves to 1-0 all-time against Merrimack, as Sunday's matchup marked the first meeting between the two teams.
