
Bobcats Place Three in Top Six at Jasper Fall Invite

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac women's cross country program placed second at the Jasper Fall XC Invite on Saturday morning, placing three runners inside the top six at Twin Ponds on the Farm.
Rachel St. Germain and Lauren Selkin led the way, clocking in at 20:53.6 and 20:53.9, respectively to place third and fourth. Alessandra Zaffina ran in 21:03.8, good for sixth place.
In a field of eight MAAC foes, the Bobcats finished 29 points ahead of Rider and Siena for second at the meet. Overall, the Bobcats were 19 points behind winners Stony Brook.
STATS AND NOTES
The national portion of the Bobcats schedule begins at the Paul Short Run on Oct. 5, held on the campus of Lehigh University. The college races of the 50th edition of the event will be held throughout the day, with the Gold and Brown races at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

- St. Germain led the Bobcats, knocking down 10 seconds from her best time on the course a season ago. She also set a 6k personal-best, finishing a second ahead of her time at the NCAA Northeast Regional meet a season ago.
- Zaffina ran 2.3 seconds faster than her 2023 conference title race in which she finished fourth.
- Sophomore Ashlynn Witt finished 10 seconds faster than a season ago in the Fall Invite, finishing fifth on the Bobcat leaderboard and 28th overall in a time of 22:37.7.
- Classmate Avery Palmucci clocked in 2:08 ahead of her best time on the course a season ago, finishing 42nd overall in a time of 22:52.7.
- Junior Sophia Jones ran a 6k-personal best in 24:46.7, clocking in four seconds ahead of her fastest time at the 2022 MAAC Championships.
- Brianna Minervino bested her time from a season ago by 62 seconds.
