Peralta, Bobcats Crowned FDU Invitational Champions

HAMBURG, NJ. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team captured their third team championship of the year, first of the spring season, at the FDU Invitational on Monday, April 8th. Leeyen Peralta captured her fourth tournament crown of the year at the FDU Invitational on Monday afternoon, which sets a new program record.
Leeyen Peralta came into the final day in second place and was crowned the tournament champion as she shot a -2 (70) on the final 18 holes to give her a two-day total of 216 (E).
Aimee Uchida finished three strokes behind Peralta, which gave her a second-place finish. Uchida finished the final day a +3 to slot her in second place on the leaderboards.
First year Alexia Egdahl came in 14th place (+16) after shooting a +7 on day two of the invitational. Egdahl finished the tournament a +16 (232).
After finishing day one in a four-way tie for 30th place, Fuge Zhang shot a +5 on the final day to land her in a tie for 20th place (+23).
Emily Luu rounded out the Quinnipiac grouping and finished in a three-way tie for 40th place. Luu finished the tournament a +31 (247).
Riley Carey, who competed as an individual, shot an 84 (+12) on the final day, which gave her a three-round total of 257 (+41).
The Bobcats will be back in action on April 13th as they begin their final tournament before the MAAC Championship at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland.

- Quinnipiac came in first place out of fifteen programs and 30 strokes ahead of the second-place finishers, Fairfield, and Hofstra.
- The Bobcats had the top two golfers in the field, Peralta, and Uchida.
- Uchida led the Bobcats with 10 birdies and Peralta finished second with nine birdies.
- Peralta led the field and the club with 39 pars, with Egdahl being second on the team with 34.
- Quinnipiac led the field with 160 pars and 32 birdies after the final day.
