REGIONAL FINALISTS AGAIN
- For the third consecutive season, the Quinnipiac Bobcats advanced to the Regional Final round of the NCAA Tournament after its win over Wisconsin.
- Amongst active streaks, only Minnesota (four) has a longer stretch of winning its first game in the NCAA Tournament. The Bobcats knocked off Ohio State in last year's regional final en route to the National Championship.
- They fell to Minnesota State in 2022 after defeating St. Cloud in the opening round.
BIG TEN KILLERS
- The Bobcats knocked off their fourth consecutive school from the Big Ten in an NCAA Tournament contest, extending the winning streak against the league in the national tournament.
- Quinnipiac knocked off Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota en route to the 2023 National Championship, outscoring the teams 12-5.
- Friday was its second straight 3-2 overtime victory in the series of matchups as well, matching last season's national title game with Minnesota in Tampa.
YOU'VE BEEN VECTOR'D
- Sophomore and Connecticut native Victor Czerneckianair recorded his first collegiate, multi-goal outing on Friday night, scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals in the Bobcats' 3-2 victory.
- He became the seventh different Bobcat to score two or more in a game this season and it was his third career game-winning tally, his first in the extra period.
- The Southington native is having a career year offensively, potting seven goals and dishing seven assists, totaling 14 points. All three numbers are career bests.
THE FRIENDLY 401
- Quinnipiac has fond memories at the now-Amica Mutual Pavilion and is looking to add to those this weekend in the NCAA Tournament.
- The Bobcats' first Road to the Frozen Four went through this building, where they erased a 3-1 third period deficit to Canisius in the opening game before defeating then-associate head coach Joe Dumais and Union in the Regional Final to advance.
MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
- The Bobcats have been one of the most consistent programs in Division I since joining the NCAA's top rank in the 1999-00 season. Of their 26 seasons, they have posted 21 seasons of 20 wins or more.
- Quinnipiac has posted 30 wins the previous two seasons and has only had two, sub-20 win seasons since the 2011-12 campaign.
