Czerneckianair's OT Winner Sends Bobcats to NCAA Regional Final

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Victor Czerneckianair scored his second goal of the game 11:04 into overtime to break a 2-2 deadlock, sending the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program to a 3-2 victory in the Regional Semifinals of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
The Bobcats outshot Wisconsin 8-3 in the extra period and 32-20 for the game and sealed the deal after a great stretch pass from Davis Pennington found Travis Treloar, who centered it to the streaking Czerneckianair and the sophomore buried it blocker side to send the Bobcats to a rematch with Boston College.
Quinnipiac started the scoring 2:12 into the game, as Cristophe Tellier's centering pass was tapped in by Christophe Fillion to give the Bobcats the early advantage.
After Wisconsin scored a pair to take a 2-1 lead in the first three minutes of the second, Czerneckianair's first of the night came off a scramble in front where he went high on the blocker side.

Quinnipiac looks for its second consecutive trip to the Frozen Four, facing Boston College on Sunday night in Providence. Puck drop on Easter Sunday is slated for 4 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN2.

STATS AND NOTES
- This was Czerneckianair's first game-winning goal of the season and third of his career.
- It was also his first overtime game winner.
- Zach Tupker recorded a pair of assists on the day, his second collegiate game with two helpers. Both of them have come this season.
- Quinnipiac advanced to its third consecutive Regional Final and fourth in the last five seasons.
- The Bobcats have won four consecutive NCAA Tournament games against Big Ten foes, adding Wisconsin to the streak of Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota from the 2023 season.
