Captain Leeyen Peralta Wins Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational Title

OLDSMAR, Fla. – Captain Leeyen Peralta captured the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational crown after finishing the two-day tournament a +2 (146). Quinnipiac's grouping of Leeyen Peralta, Aimee Uchida, Fuge Zhang, Samantha Galantini, and Natalie Spiska shot a combined 617 (+41), which was good for a second-place finish. Quinnipiac (B) was consisted of Meg Yoshida, Alexia Egdahl, Sandyha Vaikuntam, Riley Carey, and Emily Luu and they finished day two a +31 for a two-day score of +59, which put them in seventh place out of 16 teams.
Leeyen Peralta sat at the top of the leaderboards after day one and stayed there after the final day. Peralta shot a +2 (74) on the final 18 holes to give her a total score of 146 (+2).
Emily Luu finished in a tie for 7th place (+9) after 36 holes. Luu birdied the 13th hole to help her finish at a +5 (77) on day two.
Aimee Uchida finished in a tie for 14th place (+12). Uchida finished day two a +6 (78) to give her a two-day total of 156 (+12).
Fuge Zhang had herself a nice day, shooting a 77 (+5) to push her up thirteen spots from 30th to a tie for 17th place (+13).
First years Alexia Egdahl and Samantha Galantini finished the tournament in a tie for 20th place (+14). Egdahl finished day two a +8 and Galantini finished a +7 to put them both at a two-day total of +14 (158).
Fuge Zhang sits in a tie for 30th place (+8) and Riley Carey is tied for 56th place after ending the day at +11 (83).
Sandhya Vaikuntam rounded out the competitors for the Bobcats and she finished the tournament a +28 (172) after shooting an 86 (+14) on the final day.
The Bobcats will be back in action on April 7th as they open competition at the FDU Invitational in Hamburg, New Jersey.
