
No. 9 Bobcats Drop Game One of ECAC Quarterfinal Series at Cornell in Overtime

ITHACA, N.Y. — The No. 9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey dropped the first game of the ECAC Quarterfinal series 3-2 in overtime at Cornell.
Cornell jumped on the Bobcats quickly scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes of play.
The Bobcats wouldn't back down scoring two goals of their own in the second period.
Kahlen Lamarche started the scoring for QU, taking a shot off a Sadie Peart faceoff win and scoring just over five minutes into the second frame.
With under a minute to go in the period, Madison Chantler battled in front of the net and scored to knot the game at two.
After a back-and-forth scoreless third period the game went to overtime.
Cornell would score 2:29 into overtime after a bad bounce off the end boards left them with an open net.

- Madison Chantler scored her ninth goal of the season and third in the last two games.
- Mia Lopata had her second assist in as many games.
- Nina Steigauf also dished an assist to bring her point total to 32.
- Steigauf is currently on a four-game point streak.
