No. 9 Bobcats Skate Past Princeton
2/3/2024 6:32:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, defeating Princeton 3-1.
After feeling each other out for most of the first period, the Kate Reilly found Sophie Urban in front of the net for a one timer to put the Bobcats up with just under three minutes to play in the first period.
QU started the second period with a five-minute power play after Princeton took a hitting from behind penalty to end the first period. Just before the end of the power play, a backdoor pass found Kate Reilly and she found the back of the net to double the Bobcats lead.
Kendall Cooper added the third Bobcat goal on a pretty play after scooping the puck off the boards.
Logan Angers was stellar in net, making 21 saves, including stopping a breakaway in the third period.
Princeton would add one goal in the third but it wouldn't be enough as the Bobcats held on.
