Bobcats Drop Conference Matchup To Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball fell to the Fairfield Stags, 64-46, on Thursday night in Fairfield. Anna Foley led the Bobcats with 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 10-17 on the season and 7-11 in the MAAC, while Fairfield will improve to 25-1 overall and 17-0 in conference play. Fairfield's win streak stretches to 23 straight games.
Fairfield kicked off the game on a 6-0 run before Paige Girardi cut to the hoop to get the Bobcats' scoring started. Fairfield added a three to go into the media timeout up seven. Out of the break, the Stags lead was cut to four as Reiven Douglas knocked down a three.
The two sides traded baskets as Fairfield ended the first quarter with a six-point lead.
Fairfield came out firing in the second quarter as they were able to stretch their lead to 16 to force Quinnipiac to use a timeout. The rest of the quarter was all Stags as they entered the locker room at the half with a 33-14 lead.
Grace LaBarge scored Quinnipiac's first seven points of the second half and capped it off with a three.
Fairfield continued their dominate play as they reached the media break with a 22-point advantage. The two teams traded points to the end of the quarter with the Stags in front by 24.
Any time the Bobcats crept closer, the Stags would pick up again, not letting the Bobcats get within less than 18 as they were able to seal the 64-46 win.
