
Bobcats Drop Thursday Contest To Mount St. Mary's

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Bobcats fell to the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, 54-45, despite 15 points from Anna Foley on Thursday night in Hamden.
With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 10-13 on the season and 7-7 in the MAAC, while Mount will improve to 10-13 overall and 7-7 in conference play. This is Mount's second straight win over the Bobcats.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early five-point lead after Ava Sollenne knocked down a corner three.
Mount St. Mary's bounced right back as they took a 10-8 lead into the media timeout. The Mountaineers came out of the break and built a nine-point lead to end the quarter with a 19-10 lead.
The second quarter started with the teams' trading baskets into the media timeout, with the Mountaineers holding an eight-point lead. The Bobcats were able to get within six to end the quarter as Karson Martin got a steal and knocked down a jumper.
Mount St. Mary's extended their lead out of the half, making it a 33-26 game at the media timeout. After the Mountaineers made their lead ten, the Bobcats came right back in it. Reiven Douglas knocked down a three to make it a five-point game at the end of the third quarter.
The teams traded baskets to start the final frame and the Bobcats were able to get within three courtesies of a layup from Grace LaBarge.
