No. 5 Bobcats Bounce Back, Defeat Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. — The No. 5 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program earned a weekend split on Saturday night, knocking off top four league foe Clarkson 4-2 at Cheel Arena.
After the two teams split the first four goals, the Bobcats potted a pair 44 seconds apart late in the second to seize control, with Charles Alexis Legault and Collin Graf going back to back.
Clarkson scored the opener at the 2:45 mark of the first but the Bobcats answered with two over a 64-second span, with Anthony Cipollone and Alex Power both finding twine.
The hosts would tie it with 1:20 left in the frame to send the game into the intermission at two apiece.
No goals were scored in the final frame, as Bobcat netminder Vinny Duplessis stopped all five shots on his net to earn the win.

- First year forward Mason Marcellus recorded a pair of assists on the night, his third, multi-assist game of the season and sixth performances with two or more points.
- Legault recorded points on both tallies in the second, his second collegiate multi-point outing.
- Quinnipiac's defense held Clarkson to a season-low 14 shots, matching the total put on them by Brown, AIC and Yale.
- Graf has points in five consecutive contests, with seven over that span.
- Travis Treloar extended his points streak to seven games with an assist today. He's totaled nine over that stretch.
- Marcellus has four points over the last three games, recording a pair of multi-point outings.
- The Bobcats' lead in front of Cornell atop the ECAC standings remains at eight with seven outings left.
