No. 9/7 Bobcats Fall in Shootout in Nutmeg Classic Championship

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The No. 9/7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team fought to a 1-1 tie with Yale on Saturday evening, eventually falling in a shootout that determined the Nutmeg Classic Championship.
Yale broke the scoreless tie early, taking advantage of a Bobcat tripping penalty and scoring on the power play.
QU came back with a special teams goal of their own, with Kendall Cooper firing a wrist shot top corner to even the score.
Neither team would score the rest of regulation or overtime. Kaley Doyle played a big part in keeping the Bobcats even, making a season-high 42 saves.
STATS & NOTES
QU will host SHU on Tuesday morning, playing at 11:00 AM for a Kids Day game at M&T Bank Arena. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

- Kendall Cooper and Kahlen Lamarche each lead the Bobcats with 16 points after Lamarche assisted on Cooper's first period goal.
- Lamarche finished the Nutmeg Classic with four points, and was named to the all-tournament team.
- Laurence Frenette had her second assist and third point of the weekend.
- Kaley Doyle had a season-high 42 saves.
