No. 9/7 Bobcats Dominate SHU, Advance to Nutmeg Classic Championship

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The No. 9/7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team scored a season-high eight goals en route to an 8-1 win over Sacred Heart University in the first game of the Nutmeg Classic on Friday afternoon.
The Bobcats got to scoring early, and often, with Tessa Holk and Sophie Urban scoring just under 20 seconds after each other. Kahlen Lamarche added two of her own in the first frame, including a breakaway goal on a great feed from Maddy Samoskevich.
Lamarche continued the onslaught, notching her first career hat trick just 25 seconds into the second period before the Bobcats added two more in the middle frame from Laurence Frenette and Tessa Holk.
Emerson Jarvis scored the lone goal in the third period for the Bobcats to push the lead while Kaley Doyle stood tall, making 13 saves.

QU will be playing in the Nutmeg Classic Championship tomorrow, facing the winner of Yale and No. 14 UConn at 6:00 PM. The game will be played at Martire Family Arena in Fairfield, Conn. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
