Gray Leads the Way as Bobcats Compete at Pre-Nationals

Quinnipiac Finishes 11th in "B" Race, Outlasting ACC/Big Ten foes
MADISON, Wisc. — The Quinnipiac women's cross country team put its best up against some of the best in the country on Saturday, taking on the XC24 Pre-National field at the University of Wisconsin, site of the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
The Bobcats finished 11th in the Women's "B" Race, directly ahead of ACC foe Pittsburgh and Big Ten opponent Purdue.
Quinnipiac was led by Sierra Gray, who finished 38th in the field with a 6k time of 21:26.4, as she jumped four places in the final 2k of the race. In her first 6k run of the season, Gray knocked off a full minute from her best time in 2023 at the MAAC Championships.
Alessandra Zaffina finished four spots and 2.5 seconds behind her teammate, while Lauren Selkin was ten spots and 5.7 seconds behind Zaffina.

Quinnipiac has one last tune-up before the MAAC Championship meet, running at the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday in New Britain, Conn.
