Where There's a Wilm... There's a Way
- Jeremy Wilmer tallied the first and third goals of the night, helping the No. 8 Bobcats to a 3-2 victory over Penn State on Saturday night in the season opener.
- It was the Rockville Centre native's first multi-goal game since the 2022-23 season and just the second of his career.
- He also added his second career game-winner, scoring the one the Bobcats' needed to start the second frame.
NEW FACES, NEW PLACES
- Quinnipiac welcomes 14 newcomers to the roster this season, with five transfers and nine first years on the 2024-25 Bobcat roster.
- A pair of draft picks highlight the transfer class, as Charlie Leddy (Devils) and Nate Benoit (Wild) join the defensive core.
- Chris Pelosi and Elliott Groenewold are both drafted incoming first-years, as Pelosi was selected by Boston in the 2023 NHL Draft and Groenewold was drafted by the Bruins a year later.
JACK OF ALL TRADES
- After four seasons with Bill Riga and Holy Cross, Jack Ricketts joins the Bobcats for his fifth season and enters the 2024-25 campaign as the nation's leading goalscorer.
- With 46 goals over his collegiate career, he stands two ahead of Denver's Jack Devine and three ahead of three others for the nation's top spot.
- He has scored 35 of those in his last two seasons, including 19 a season ago, which helped him land on the All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team.
PRESEASON HONOREE
- Sophomore Mason Marcellus, Quinnipiac's leading returning scorer, was selected to the Preseason All-ECAC team in recognition of his offensive performances from a season ago.
- He led Quinnipiac with five, game-winning tallies a season ago and is the leading, returning scorer that the league offers with 36 points.
MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
- The Bobcats have been one of the most consistent programs in Division I since joining the NCAA's top rank in the 1999-00 season. Of their 26 seasons, they have posted 21 seasons of 20 wins or more.
- Quinnipiac has posted 30 wins the previous two seasons and has only had two, sub-20 win seasons since the 2011-12 campaign.
- Rand Pecknold's club also owns the longest active NCAA Tournament appearance streak at five and is one of three teams to have made at least eight of the last 10 tournaments.
