Bobcats Drop Conference Matchup Against Fairfield

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team was defeated by the Fairfield Stags, 74-59, on Thursday evening in Hamden. Grace LaBarge led the Bobcats in scoring with 15 points off the bench.
With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 7-10 on the season and 4-4 in the MAAC, while Fairfield will improve to 16-1 overall and 8-0 in conference play. This is Fairfield's first win against Quinnipiac since February 27, 2022.
The two teams traded points from the jump and Fairfield held a three-point lead at the first media timeout. Fairfield's lead would grow to six before the Bobcats came back, capped off by a three from Grace LaBarge to tie the game at 20. Fairfield would knock down a three on the other end to end the quarter up three.
Fairfield would continue to build on their lead, taking a five-point lead into the media timeout. Out of the break, the teams would trade baskets and a three from Anna Foley would make it a two-possession game.
Fairfield would come down a knockdown a three at the buzzer to take a seven-point lead into the half.
Fairfield's lead would continue to grow in the third quarter as they took a 41-31 lead into the media timeout. Fairfield would not look back as they established a fifteen-point advantage heading into the final ten minutes of the game.
The final quarter was all Stags as they never let the Bobcats back in the game and sealed the 74-59 win over the Bobcats.
