HAMDEN, Conn. – No. 6 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey is set to host two top opponents in Hamden this weekend. On Friday night the Bobcats will face No. 4/5 Colgate and No. 8 Cornell on Saturday afternoon.

Friday night puck drop is set for 6:00 PM and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ while Saturday's matchup will begin at 3:00 PM and will be available to watch on ESPN+.

AMONG THE NATION'S BEST

QU ranks No. 4 nationally in scoring offense (4.04 goals per game) and No. 9 in scoring defense (1.64). The Bobcats also are ranked fourth in total team points (260).
Kate Reilly and Kendall Cooper are both in the top three nationally for points per game among defenders, each with over one point per game. Kate Reilly leads all defenders with 1.32 points per game.
Sadie Peart is No. 2 nationally with 351 faceoff wins this season and is also tied for eighth nationally in power play goals (5).

SCOUTING NO. 4/5 Colgate

Colgate is 20-3-1 and 11-1-0 in conference play.
Kristýna Kaltounková leads the Raiders with 45 points on 21 goals and 24 assists.
Kayle Osborne has appeared in 18 games in goal for Colgate posting a 1.38 goals against average and .943 save percentage.
QU is 18-26-5 versus Colgate since 2001. The Raiders won the last matchup this season 4-1 on Nov. 18, 2023.

SCOUTING NO. 8 CORNELL

Cornell is 13-5-1 and 8-4-0 in ECAC play.
Izzy Daniel leads the Big Red with 37 points on 14 goals and 23 assists.
Annelies Bergmann has appeared in 15 games for Cornell in goal recording a 2.04 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
QU is 14-19-7 versus Cornell since 2003. The Bobcats won the first matchup at Cornell this season 3-1 on Nov. 17, 2023.

NO. 6 IN THE POLLS

The Bobcats have been ranked No. 6 nationally in each of the latest national polls (USCHO & USA Hockey).

ROAD SWEEP OVER HARVARD AND DARTMOUTH

On Friday night, the Bobcats hung eight goals on Harvard with seven different goal scorers.
Nina Steigauf led all scorers with four points while Kate Reilly, Kahlen Lamarche, and Maya Labad each recorded three points.
Logan Angers made 26 saves for the shutout.
On Saturday afternoon QU escaped Dartmouth with a 5-3 win on third period goals from Kate Reilly and Jess Schryver.
Kahlen Lamarche recorded a goal and an assist in the win.

UNDEFEATED WEEKEND VS. MINN. DULUTH

QU opened up 2024 with a hard fought series against Minnesota Duluth in Hamden, coming out 1-0-1.
The Bobcats took game one on Friday with goals from Kendall Cooper and Nina Steigauf while Logan Angers made 36 saves.
In the second game, Minnesota Duluth took a 2-0 lead in the third period before the Bobcats came roaring back.
Maddy Samoskevich and Sadie Peart were able to score two third period goals to force overtime, which would end in a tie.

HOME WIN OVER LIU

The Bobcats wrapped up 2023 with a comfortable 7-0 win over LIU on Saturday afternoon.
QU saw goals from Kahlen Lamarche, Kendall Cooper, Veronica Bac, Julia Nearis, and Maya Labad.
Kahlen Lamarche had a career-high four points with two goals and two assists.
Kendall Cooper, Veronica Bac, Maddy Samoskevich, Sadie Peart, and Maya Labad each had multi-point games.
Logan Angers recorded her fourth shutout of the season and 17^th of her career.

OVERTIME WIN AT NO. 12 PRINCETON

On Saturday afternoon QU beat No. 12 Princeton 6-5 in a back-and-forth thriller in New Jersey.
The Bobcats took a 3-1 lead heading into the first intermission despite being outshot 24-5 in the first period.
Princeton would score four goals in the second period to take a 5-3 lead but the Bobcats would get two power-play from Kendall Cooper and Sadie Peart to knot the game at five in the third period.
Halfway through overtime Kate Reilly found Sadie Peart in front of the net for the game-winner to complete the comeback.

HOME WEEKEND SWEEP OVER UNION & RPI

Jess Schryver led the Bobcats with two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Union on Friday, Dec. 1. She also scored both goals in the third period to give extend the Bobcat lead.
Emerson Jarvis and Kahlen Lamarche chipped in goals as well earlier in the contest.
Kate Reilly notched her 78^th career point as Bobcat to move into first place all time for Bobcat defenders, passing Regan Boulton '13.
On Saturday night, four different Bobcats scored enroute to a 4-2 win over RPI.
Madison Chantler, Maddy Samoskevich, Veronica Bac, and Emerson Jarvis all scored for the Bobcats.
Logan Angers made 44 saves combined over the weekend.

FOURTH STRAIGHT NUTMEG CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Bobcats continued their dominance over the state of Connecticut, topping No. 11 UConn and No. 13/12 Yale on back-to-back nights to capture their fourth straight Nutmeg Classic championship.
Goaltender Logan Angers was named tournament Most Outstanding Player as she made 68 saves over the two games, including a season-high 36-save shutout over Yale in the Championship game.
On Friday, Julia Nearis scored two goals in her first Nutmeg Classic game, leading the Bobcats to a 4-2 win over UConn. Kendall Cooper and Nina Steigauf each scored in the game as well.
With just under a minute left in the first period on Saturday, Veronica Bac forced a turnover and fed Kate Reilly a one-timer to put the Bobcats up one.
Kendall Cooper continued her hot streak scoring a backhand goal to put the Bobcats up two. Nina Steigauf added an empty net goal to beat the Bulldogs 3-0.

WEEKEND SPLIT AT CORNELL AND COLGATE

On Friday, Nov. 17, the Bobcats topped No. 6 Cornell 3-1 in Ithaca, N.Y. Three different Bobcats scored in the win.
Kahlen Lamarche scored off an intercepted pass five minutes into the second period, while Emerson Jarvis scored off a Kendall Cooper rebound later in the period.
Jess Schryver scored the empty netter to seal the game with just under a minute left.
On Saturday, Nov. 18, QU fell 4-1 to No. 3 Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y.
After Colgate took an early, Kate Reilly received a pass from Jess Schryver and shot it to tie the game up in the first period.
Colgate would score two more first period goals and tacked on an empty netter late in the third to win the game.
Goaltender Logan Angers made 62 saves over the course of the weekend.

RECORD SETTING WIN OVER POST

The Bobcats set multiple program records in a 12-1 win over Post. The 12 goals scored by the Bobcats was a program high.
QU also tallied 32 total points and 20 assists, both program records.
Six different Bobcats recorded 3+ points, including Nina Steigauf and Kate Reilly each notching four points.
Veronica Bac had the first multi-point game of her career with two goals and one assist.

HOME WINS OVER DARTMOUTH AND HARVARD

On Friday night, Kendall Cooper scored the game-winner in a 3-2 win over Dartmouth with under three minutes remaining. Mia Lopata scored her first collegiate goal.
Sadie Peart chipped in a goal of her own as well.
On Saturday afternoon, Sadie Peart scored her first career hat trick and dished off two assists in the Bobcats 7-1 win over Harvard.
Maya Labad, Julia Nearis, Nina Steigauf and Kahlen Lamarche all scored first period goals.

TWO ROAD LOSSES AT CLARKSON AND ST. LAWRENCE

The Bobcats took their first losses of the season at Clarkson and St. Lawrence Friday and Saturday afternoons.
Maya Labad scored the lone Bobcat goal on Friday, with assists from Kahlen Lamarche and Madison Chantler.
Sadie Peart scored the only Bobcat goal on Saturday, on a tip in front from a Maya Labad pass.
Logan Angers made 43 saves over the course of the weekend.

ECAC OPENING WEEKEND SWEEP

On Friday night, the Bobcats won 1-0 over Brown in Hamden. Nina Steigauf scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, while Logan Angers made 18 saves to record the 15^th shutout of her career.
On Saturday the Bobcats came out flying, scoring four goals in the first period. Emerson Jarvis and Kahlen Lamarche scored two goals in a span of 28 seconds to get the Bobcats going.
Maya Labad and Sadie Peart each scored in the first period as well.
The Bulldogs came back with three goals of their own before Emerson Jarvis and Nina Steigauf each netted an empty net goal to seal the 6-3 victory.

HOME-AND-HOME SWEEP OVER PROVIDENCE

QU won both games of a home-and-home with Providence, taking the first one at home 4-1, and the second 2-1 in OT on the road.
Sadie Peart recorded her 100^th point while the Bobcats also got goals from Julia Nearis, Nina Steigauf, and Jess Schryver.
On Saturday, Madison Chantler broke the scoreless tie early in the third period before Providence was able to make it 1-1. Jess Schryver netted the game-winner just 54 seconds in the extra frame.

TWO ROAD WINS AT UNH

The Bobcats won both games at New Hampshire this past weekend, topping the Wildcats, 3-2, in overtime on Friday before earning a 4-1 victory on Saturday.
Nina Steigauf scored the game-winner in overtime on Friday, while the Bobcats also got goals from both Sadie Peart and Madison Chantler.
Peart, Steigauf, Jess Schryver and Maya Labad all scored on Saturday to send QU back to Hamden with a pair of non-league victories.

BOBCATS SWEEP OPENING WEEKEND

Quinnipiac opened the regular season with a two-game sweep of Maine in Hamden, topping the Black Bears 3-0 on Friday night in Hamden, then 5-1 on Saturday.
Graduate student Logan Angers made 20 saves to complete a 3-0 shutout victory over Maine on Friday night in Hamden. The Bobcats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Nina Steigauf hit a streaking Sadie Peart and she fired a wrister past the Maine goaltender 49 seconds in. Early in the second period Julia Nearis scored her first goal as a Bobcat on a breakaway after Kate Reilly found her open in the middle of the ice. Kendall Cooper finished the win off with an empty-net goal with just under 30 seconds remaining.
Five different Bobcats tallied goals as Quinnipiac completed the weekend sweep of Maine on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 5-1. Maya Labad, Kendall Cooper, Jess Schryver, Emerson Jarvis and Nina Steigauf all scored in the victory.

OT WIN in EXHIBITION

Graduate student Kate Reilly scored 2:17 into overtime to complete a three-goal run for the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team, as the Bobcats erased a 3-1 third-period deficit en route to a 4-3 victory over UConn in a Saturday exhibition contest at M&T Bank Arena.
The Bobcats trailed 3-1 with just under 12:00 to go, but Madison Chantler's goal at the 8:13 mark cut the deficit in half.
After a body-checking penalty on UConn late in the frame, Maddy Samoskevich fired a wrister from the point into the top corner, knotting the contest and sending it to the extra frame.
Chantler also started the scoring in the second, deflecting a Zoe Uens point shot to the ice as it skipped past the UConn netminder.
The goalies split each 20-minute period in the contest, with Logan Angers taking back over in overtime to earn the victory. Lucy Phillips made 11 saves in her first collegiate action, while Tatum Blacker and Angers each compiled nine stops.

STRONG RETURNING GROUP

The Bobcats return 9 of their top 11 scorers for the upcoming year. Maya Labad (31 points in '22-23), Sadie Peart (28 points in '22-23), Alexa Hoskin (24 points in '22-23), Kendall Cooper (23 points in '22-23), Maddy Samoskevich (21 points in '22-23), Jess Schryver (21 points in '22-23), Nina Steigauf (20 points in '22-23), Kate Reilly (18 points in '22-23) and Madison Chantler (17 points in '22-23) are all back with the Bobcats for 2023-24.

QU SELECTED NO. 3 in ECAC HOCKEY POLL

The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team ranked third in the ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll as announced by the conference on Wednesday, September 13. The Bobcats received 96 points in the poll.

BOBCATS ANNOUNCE 2023-24 LEADERSHIP GROUP

Graduate defender Kate Reilly and graduate forward Sadie Peart will serve as the Bobcat's Co-Captains while senior defender Kendall Cooper and graduate forward Alexa Hoskin have been tabbed Assistant Captains.
Peart is back in action in the leadership group after serving as an assistant captain for the Bobcats last season. Reilly, Peart, and Hoskin each announced their return for a fifth season this year in March.
Kate Reilly, Co-Captain - Kate Reilly was the 2023 Sarah Devens Award Co-Recipient and played in all 40 contests during the 2022-23 season. She posted eight goals and 10 assists last season, including the game-tying goal in the third to force the historic triple overtime against Penn State in the NCAA Regional Tournament. Reilly led the team in blocked shots, led the defenders in goals scored, and posted a +18 through 40 games. She has a career record of 21 goals and 37 assists for 58 points through four years.
Sadie Peart, Co-Captain - Sadie Peart served as an assistant captain during her senior year with the Bobcats, she tied for first on the team for game-winning goals and scored the overtime winner against St. Lawrence to send the Bobcats to the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals. Peart saw action in all 40 matchups last season, posting 14 goals and 14 assists ranking fourth on the team in points. She has played in 132 games during her four years as a Bobcat with a 45G-48A-93P record.
Alexa Hoskin, Assistant Captain - Alexa Hoskin tallied 24 points during last season's campaign, ranking fifth on the team in total points. She scored the lone goal against Colgate in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals and recorded seven goals and 17 assists through 36 matchups, a career-high season. Peart posted two powerplay goals and two game-winners. Hoskin has seen action in 107 games throughout her career and recorded 19 goals, 41 assists and 60 total points.
Kendall Cooper, Assistant Captain - Kendall Cooper was named to the ECAC All-Conference Second Team in 2023, lead the defense in goals scored with six, and tallied two game-winners. Cooper scored a goal against Ohio State in the NCAA Regional Final this past season. Cooper enters her fourth year with the Bobcats and has posted 15G-42A-57P through 84 career games. She saw action in 33 games this past season and posted a +15 with two powerplay goals. She was named to the 2021 ECAC All-Rookie Team in her first year.

LAST YEAR (2022-23)

The Bobcats recently completed a stellar 2022-23 season, tying a program record with 30 wins.
The Bobcats reached the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time and won an NCAA Tournament matchup for the second consecutive year under head coach Cassandra Turner.
QU went 17-5-0 in ECAC action and boasted a 17-4-0 mark at home games in Hamden.
Olivia Mobley and Kendall Cooper were named to the All-ECAC Second Team for their performance on the ice. Mobley led the Bobcats with 43 total points (15 goals, 28 assists) and Cooper helped anchor the Bobcats' defensive unit while chipping in with 23 points.
Head Coach Cassandra Turner was named an ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year finalist. In 2022-23, she coached the team to a 17-5-0 league record (27-7-0 overall) and a third-place finish at the end of the regular season. Turner has led the Bobcats to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two seasons.
