No. 5 Bobcats Ride Scorching Start to ECAC Win

Quinnipiac scores six of nine goals in first 8:52 of the game
HAMDEN, Conn. — For the first time since Jan. 18, 2022, the Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program scored nine in a game, running away from ECAC foe Princeton, 9-2, on Friday night in front of 3,203 fans at M&T Bank Arena.
The Bobcats raced out of the gates, scoring six goals in the first nine minutes to fly out to a 6-1 advantage.
Collin Graf recorded three points in a seven minute span to complete his scoring on the night and Jacob Quillan would join him later in the night in adding a goal and two assists.
The Bobcats would add three more in the third, with Charles Alexis Legault adding a goal and assist in the final 20 minutes.
16 different Bobcats recorded a point in the victory and Matej Marinov made 19 saves on 21 opposing shots on net.

The same two teams will meet tomorrow, this time at Princeton's Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton, N.J.

STATS AND NOTES
- The Bobcats set a season high in goals (nine) and tied its season-best with 16 assists.
- Quinnipiac's six goals in the opening frame were its most in a period since Jan. 29, 2016 when they scored six against Dartmouth.
- The last time Quinnipiac scored nine was also against Princeton on Jan. 18, 2022.
- Graf recorded his 17th career game with two or more assists and his 31st multi-point game of his college tenure.
- The Bobcats extended their unbeaten run in ECAC play, now sitting at 8-0-1 in the 2023-24 league campaign. They are now unbeaten in 17 consecutive league contests dating back to last season.
- Sam Lipkin extended his point streak to six games and has one in 11 of his last 12 appearances.
- Quillan matched his season high with a three-point night, adding a goal and two assists.
- Along with the 16 different players recording a point, seven Bobcats had multi-point nights, including the first in Legault's collegiate career.
- The Bobcats are now 41-4-2 at M&T Bank Arena since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
