Bobcats Best Some of Nation's Best at Paul Short Run

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team showed out at the Paul Short Run on Saturday morning, placing fifth as a team in the annual national meet on the campus of Lehigh University.
Rachel St. Germain led the way, climbing 34 spots after her first mile to finish 30th in a time of 21:05.1, while Corinne Barney was right behind at 21:07.6. She jumped 62 places after her first mile.
The Bobcats finished 25 points ahead of ACC foe Georgia Tech and also bested Northeast regional rivals Yale, Army, UMass Lowell and Stony Brook.

Championship season begins for the Bobcats as they head to the annual NEICCA Championships next weekend at Franklin Park in Boston. That will be followed up by the XC23 Pre-National Meet in Charlottesville, site of the National Championships.

- St. Germain finished eighth among underclassmen.
